Rocky Mountain Maple
I ordered some Rocky Mountain Maple seeds from Idaho and was lucky enough to get two of them to sprout in early 2013. These were the only native maples that we had in Salmon Arm, so that made them seem kind of special to me and made me want to try growing them here.

August 10, 2013 - This is the first of my two Rocky Mountain Maples that I planted in a permanent spot near the sheltered edge of the woods. It's still pretty puny, but it has started to grow since being put in the ground.
August 10, 2013 - New leaves coming out!

August 2016 - My last Rocky Mountain Maple died this summer due to an infestation of ants. It's a shame, since it was doing so well.
